Join a team committed to excellence, equity, and whole-child development. We are seeking an innovative Dean of Students, a non-administrative position that supports the Principal in maintaining a safe, orderly, and inclusive school environment. The Dean plays a key role in addressing student behavior and discipline, while also serving as a resource for students, families, and staff. This position supports both individual student needs and schoolwide systems through a proactive, restorative approach. The Dean will contribute to the implementation of district-wide initiatives, including Multi-Level Systems of Support (MLSS), Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and equity-focused practices that foster emotionally safe and supportive learning environments. While not an administrative role, the Dean of Students will serve in an acting administrative capacity in the absence of the principal.

What You'll Do:

  • Act as lead administrator of the building in the absence of the principal.

  • Model both proactive and responsive approaches to disciplinary issues, while upholding ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism.

  • Maintain data related to attendance, referrals, disciplinary actions, and monitor intervention progress and goal attainment.

  • Fulfill disciplinary procedures in accordance with district policies and state laws; receive referrals and confer with students, parents, staff, community agencies, and law enforcement; respond to and resolve concerns or complaints; present investigatory findings at disciplinary hearings as needed.

  • Monitor and support attendance efforts, including preparing letters, contacting families, and attending meetings regarding student absences or tardiness.

  • Provide leadership for schoolwide attendance improvement initiatives.

  • Serve as a key building leader in the implementation of MLSS, PBIS, and social, emotional, and behavioral frameworks.

  • Lead and facilitate building-level MLSS team meetings.

  • Coordinate universal social, emotional, and behavioral screening and student climate surveys.

  • Partner with families and community resources to support student success and wellness.

  • Coach and support classroom teachers in managing student behavior through modeling, consultation, and feedback.

  • Provide professional development on classroom behavior strategies, PBIS, restorative practices, and the district's behavior framework.

  • Act as a resource for teachers seeking support in classroom management, student engagement, and trauma-informed practices.

  • Track and analyze behavioral, disciplinary, and attendance data to inform both individual and schoolwide planning.

  • Meet regularly with teachers to review student behavior data and collaborate on strategies for student success through the PLC process.

  • Work under the direction of the Director of Special Education and Student Services to support district initiatives related to MLSS and social, emotional, and behavioral learning.

  • Provide support and professional development to teachers on evidence-based classroom behavior management practices.

  • Offer strong leadership in the implementation of positive behavioral interventions and support across the school.

  • Participate in professional learning focused on research-based behavioral interventions and strategies to improve school climate.

  • Contribute to districtwide continuous improvement efforts related to social, emotional, and behavioral learning and support.

  • All other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring:

  • Master's degree in Educational Administration.

  • Valid Wisconsin teaching or administrative license in applicable grades.

  • Minimum four (4) years of experience working with students.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred

We Offer:

  • A supportive team and collaborative work environment.

  • Ongoing professional development.

  • Comprehensive benefits and competitive compensation.
