    Job Description

    The School District of Beloit is seeking a Family Advocate to foster positive and collaborative partnerships between families, schools, and the broader community to support student achievement and well-being. This position helps families navigate school programs, services, and procedures; strengthens home-school communication; and builds trust through cultural responsiveness and relationship-centered engagement.

    What You'll Do:

    • Serve as the main point of contact for families at assigned school(s), arranging conferences, translation, and other supports as needed

    • Provide welcoming, informative assistance to new students and families joining the district

    • Maintain positive, professional relationships with families, community partners, and staff

    • Demonstrate cultural competence and help cultivate cultural proficiency among staff and families

    • Assist families in accessing educational and community resources (e.g., applications for services, transportation, technical support)

    • Communicate proactively with families regarding student progress, opportunities, and services to strengthen engagement

    • Facilitate and/or participate in family meetings and conferences to support students' academic and social development

    • Maintain accurate and confidential logs, reports, and records of family outreach activities

    • Organize events that celebrate diversity, highlight student success, and connect families to the school community

    • Collaborate in planning and attending community engagement activities and cultural celebrations

    • Participate in district and school meetings, training, and committees to support family engagement goals

    • Support home visits and office meetings to address family needs and provide relevant information

    • Refer families to outside agencies for additional services (e.g., social, health, or financial support)

    • Bilingual staff may provide translation and interpretation as part of the district's plan

    • Perform other related duties as assigned
