SCHOOL GUIDANCE COUNSELOR - PROBATIONARY
LOCATION: Baldwin High School
HOURS: School days
EFFECTIVE: 2026-2027 School Year
REPORTS TO: High School Administration
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Has an understanding of the needs of a diverse population,
- Willing to familiarize themselves with the implementation of the scheduling process,
- Is able to effectively intervene with at-risk students academically and socially,
- Participate in special education conferences: CSE, CST, and Section 504,
- Has a working knowledge of the college application process, including the Common Application
- Has familiarity with Naviance and Eschool
- Familiarity with N.Y.S. graduation requirements and Regents' requirements
- Familiar with academic, social-emotional and career counseling
- Communicate with parents and appropriate professional staff to discuss student needs and progress,
- Has strong interpersonal communication skills with parents, students, teachers and administrators,
- Collaborates with staff and administration to promote and maintain a sound learning environment,
- Other duties as assigned by the principal and/ or supervising administrator.
