Position Overview:

The World Languages and Cultures Department seeks Italian, French, German, and Spanish Oral Proficiency (OPC) leaders to support language students practicing their speaking skills.

• New leaders should register for the Techniques Training Course WLC 293-01.
• This application is for students who have already been offered an Oral Proficiency Leader position.

Responsibilities:

• Meet with the OP students weekly for 50 minutes to practice the target language.

• Conduct activities designed to encourage language students to communicate in the target language.

• Keep careful records of student's participation and attendance.

• Submit class records on time.

• Attend training orientation each semester.

Learning Objectives:

• Gain knowledge on campus resources.

• Provide quality customer service.

• Gain an understanding of professionalism and confidence.

Preferred Qualifications:

An Oral Proficiency Leader must possess the following ACTFL level:

• Italian, French, German or Spa 103- Intermediate High

• Italian, French, German or Spa 102- Intermediate Mid

• Italian, French, German or Spa 101 - Intermediate Mid

• For Spanish 203- Advance Low
