SUMMARY:

The Band Director (Associate Director of Bands) is responsible for serving as the lead instructor for the Middle School band program while also functioning in a team-teaching, supportive capacity for the High School band program, including the fall marching band season. This position requires an individual who can lead and sustain a developing middle school program while collaborating closely with the Director of Bands to support a unified, sequential 6 -12 band curriculum.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or higher
• Valid Michigan secondary teaching certificate
• Endorsement in Music (JX/JQ)
• Demonstrated proficiency on multiple band instruments (woodwind, brass and/or percussion)
• Willingness and ability to work extended hours during marching band season, including evenings, weekends and summer band camp
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of an instructional team
