    LFDCS is committed to the development and implementation of effective practices to support language acquisition and academic fluency in English and Spanish for all students. Dual-language fluency-building on the first language of Spanish while supporting proficiency in English-utilizes best practices to meet our priority funding goal. Responsibilities:

    Teach students to read and write in Spanish. Provide the instructional program for students to reflect the goals of a Dual-Language Program. Ensure consistent discipline practices and integration with the classroom instruction. Participate in the monthly RTI (Response to Intervention) meeting for assigned grade levels. Meet weekly with grade-level classroom teachers to support parallel skills in two languages. Assist with standardized test administration or translation as requested by Head of School. Communicate with parents to ensure a cooperative family partnership in accord with the schools mission and to increase student achievement. Participate in and adopt school-based professional learning, innovations and technology advances. Invest in personal and professional development through on-going training in accord with an approved professional development plan. Provide letters of reference for high school admissions process (grade 8 students) as requested.

    Experience/Qualifications:

    Fluent in Spanish and English Bachelors or Masters Degree in Education or appropriate content subject area or Emergency License 3 years experience preferred Massachusetts Certification in Foreign Language Instruction at the levels matching position openings Strong commitment to education reform initiatives, particularly raising educational equity for low-income and linguistic minority students Experience teaching urban students of Hispanic backgrounds preferred Support the two-way language goals of the school. Ability to work independently and as a team member of the grade-level staff and school community Commitment to the specific mission and goals of LFDCS Demonstrated excellent communication skills (oral and written) Demonstrated interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills

    Schedule: Full-Time, School-Year Position Reports to: Head of School
