QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Teacher of the Handicapped OR Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certification and Elementary Teacher certification
  • Knowledge and experience with Applied Behavior Analysis instruction, such as discrete trial and/or verbal behavior techniques
  • Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:10 Months, 1.0 FTE, benefits provided, tenure track position

EVALUATION: Building Principal, Director of Special Services, or other person(s) designated by the Building Principal

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows and implements Individualized Education Plans.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective behavior interventions and applying behavior intervention plans.
  • Ability to provide crisis prevention and intervention strategies.
  • Ability to assess student individual behavioral needs, progress, and differentiate plans for each student.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively communicate with parents and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and provide training/support to paraprofessionals.
  • Ability to use relevant technology to provide effective strategies to students, teachers and parents.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction based on student needs.
  • Protect confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties.
  • Lesson planning, data collection and analysis.
  • Develop positive classroom culture and participate in school/district initiatives.
  • Professional reflection and development for growth.

SALARY RANGE:Step 1 - 5
