Primary Purpose:
Assists the Health Services Director in implementing a comprehensive program of health services. Provide health services to students. Promote health education and preventive health practices for students.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School diploma or GED (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency)
Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program
Valid Texas Vocational Nurse License
CPR/AED certified
Certified by Texas Department of State Health Services to conduct vision, hearing, and spinal screening (or within 6 months of employment)
Certified through UTPA Border Health Office to conduct type II diabetes screenings (or within 6 months of employment)
Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50) paid by employee.
Required Experience
One (1) year of pediatric health or community health experience preferred
