Job SummaryPosition is responsible for teaching the assigned subject and enabling each student to pursue hisher education in the absence of the regular teacher.Essential DutiesReports to the designated individual upon arrival at the school.Reviews with the designated school representative the lesson plans and schedules to be followed during the school day.Maintains the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned.Teaches the lesson plans outlined by the regular classroom teacher.Assumes responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in class during lunch and in other activity periods.Maintains maximum supervision of assigned students at all times.Reports in writing on the days activities at the conclusion of each teaching day.Follows all policies rules and procedures.Remains in the building during the hours assigned as a Substitute.Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. Must have high school diploma or GED with at least 30 semester hours of college credit with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Possess familiarity with the subjects being taught. Demonstrate some knowledge of the principles and methodologies of effective teaching. Must possess ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
