General Function
Help teachers track and analyze their student data and to make adjustments to instruction, using instructional strategies/best practices and use of curricular materials to maximize student growth in learning outcomes.
Education/Training/Experience
Basic minimum requirements are subject to change from time to time to meet the needs of the District.
Minimum: Bachelors in Education with two to five years of teaching experience.
Preferred: Masters in Education. Experience with data collection and analysis. Familiar with school reform/design and working with diverse populations and needs. Bilingual: English-Spanish.
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated general knowledge of curriculum and instruction. Demonstrated knowledge of various routine tasks, duties and procedures and the ability to follow specific instructions with little or no previous experience. Ability to exercise considerable and sound judgment to instruct students and manage their behavior. Willingness to improve competency by periodically participating in professional growth and to remain current with the latest developments in the profession. Ability to effectively interact with diverse groups. Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents. Must have excellent skills in oral and written communication. Needs the ability to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board of Education policies. Able to work collaboratively to achieve the overall goals of the school and the District.
Essential Job Functions
Performs all functions in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety and environmental regulations, facility and computer security policies and procedures. Functions are subject to change from time to time to meet the needs of the organization. Current essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Supports District teachers in lesson planning, curriculum development and student assessment by conducting walk-throughs, modeling best practices, and co-teaching lessons when appropriate.
Serve as a resource for all teachers by fostering a trusting, supportive culture that encourages educators to embrace the need for continuous improvement.
Plans, delivers, and assesses professional development through PLCs, workshops, and job-embedded training according to the needs of the staff/school.
Cooperates in the development and implementation of the District program of instruction, including partnering with teachers in non-evaluative coaching cycles.
Cooperates with staff and support personnel in assessing and helping students with health, attitude, learning and behavioral problems.
Complies with the New Mexico Code of Ethics of the Education Profession and upholds and enforces rules, administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state and federal regulations.
Articulates and facilitates the implementation of the mission and core values of Santa Fe Public Schools.
Safeguards confidentiality of personally identifiable information.
Prepares and maintains accurate and complete records and reports as required by law, state directives, District policy and administrative regulations.
Shares responsibility for the supervision and care of District inventory, proper and safe use of facilities, equipment and supplies, and reports safety hazards promptly.
Maintains professional relationships and works collaboratively with other employees, community members, and all stakeholders.
Maintains professional competence through individual and staff training, in-service educational activities and self-selected professional growth activities.
Attends and/or conducts staff meetings and participates on committees within area of responsibility.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Salary Range and Benefits
Based on education, experience, and level of NM Teaching License. Medical, dental, and vision benefits are available to full and part-time employees that work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Tier 2 License: $65,000+
Tier 3 License: $75,000+

Physical/Cognitive Requirements
Regularly required to stand; move throughout a room and/or facility. Communicate verbally and electronically. Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance, and drive. May have occasion to perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and private automobile. Some evening or weekend work and travel may be required.
Environmental Conditions
Duties performed typically in school settings to include music room, classrooms, gym, auditorium. Coach will be subject to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, noise, and hazards. Some occasional travel is required for meetings and conferences.
