The School District of Beloit is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Elementary Physical Education Teacher to promote health, wellness, and physical activity in our K-5 learners. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons that foster motor skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong fitness. The Elementary Physical Education Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive physical education program that promotes student physical activity, skill development, health, and positive behaviors aligned with state and national standards.
What You'll Do:
Design and deliver physical education lessons that align with Wisconsin Academic Standards for Physical Education.
Promote physical literacy, motor skill development, fitness, and teamwork through age-appropriate instructional strategies.
Establish a classroom culture of safety, respect, and high expectations for behavior and effort.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse physical, cognitive, and social needs of students.
Evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments.
Integrate wellness, nutrition, and lifelong fitness concepts into instruction.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, school staff, and parents to support student well-being and achievement.
Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
Participate in school-wide initiatives, staff development, and professional learning communities.
Ensure the safe use, setup, and storage of physical education equipment and facilities.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field.
Valid Wisconsin DPI teaching license (1530 - Physical Education, grades K-12).
CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).
Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching practices.
Knowledge of adaptive physical education (preferred).
Bilingual skills (preferred, but not required).
