Experience with research, data management, Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, and creating reports or presentations is helpful but not required. Candidates should be able to analyze information, develop practical solutions, and communicate findings clearly to diverse audiences. A commitment to community service, continuous learning, and supporting opportunity youth is essential. Member Duties : The VISTA member will strengthen YouthBuild Waukegan's capacity to improve participant literacy and numeracy outcomes through data-informed systems development. Responsibilities include analyzing educational assessment data, identifying skill gaps and academic trends, developing data tracking and reporting tools, and creating standardized resources for instructional staff. The member will design academic remediation frameworks, individualized learning pathway templates, progress monitoring systems, and implementation guides that support measurable skill gains and credential attainment. Additional duties include researching evidence-based educational practices, developing staff training materials, documenting sustainable processes, preparing academic impact reports, and cultivating partnerships with community colleges, libraries, tutoring programs, and other educational organizations to expand academic support services for participants.
