PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To provide clerical and marketing support for the Community Relations Department.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the Asst. Director of Community Relations.
- Support the district's volunteer program and various volunteer opportunities, including recruiting,
approving, training, and managing volunteers through an online application and database.
- Support the district's HEROES mentoring program by connecting and tracking trained mentors with
campus mentor coordinators.
- Assist with all meetings/event planning, bookings and communicating logistics for LISD volunteer and
community events; Leadership LISD, PTA meetings, School Dedications and other events as needed.
- Support PTA Clothes Closet requests, PTA Reflections building scheduling and any other PTA program
requests.
- Approve, distribute and manage the Peachjar e-flyer system.
- Maintain and update current user licenses for the district's Smore accounts.
- Provide strong customer service for administrators, faculty, parents, and students regarding various
programs while maintaining confidentiality.
- Create correspondence, forms, reports, social media posts to promote community engagement. etc
- Be adaptable and flexible in acceptance of changes in techniques and procedures.
- Demonstrates regular and prompt attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
GENERAL QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
Education/Certification/Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
- Experience in administrative support work, preferably in public education.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of general clerical practices; Google Suite, Microsoft software (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Cloud
Database).
- Skill in organization, written and oral communication; and file maintenance.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding foundation data; pay close attention to details; develop
spreadsheets, databases, and perform word processing.
