Position Overview:
Biology 201 Lab/Greenhouse/Biology 211 Lab/Floater Student Worker Position
Responsibilities: USE BULLETS
Biology 201
Assist with the set-up/breakdown of Biology 201 Labs
Clean and maintain equipment and glassware
Maintain safe, clean working environment
Maintain consistent work schedule, which includes working 3 hours sometime between Friday at 5 pm and Monday at 9 am for all weeks requiring set-up/breakdown.
Must be able to follow protocols and other written/verbal instructions.
Greenhouse
Clean pots and trays in the Greenhouse
Assist as needed with other Greenhouse duties
Work in the Greenhouse when no set-up/breakdown is required for Biology 201. Greenhouse work can be done according to student availability and Greenhouse needs.
Biology 211/Floater position
Assist with Biology 211 lab prep for 2 hours (sometime between 1:00 and 4:00 pm on either Tuesday or Friday afternoon).
Assist with other duties in the department for 2 hours each week as needed. Floater duties can be done according to student availability and departmental needs.
Learning Objectives:
Learn aseptic techniques and basic pipetting skills
Learn how to follow basic lab protocols
Learn how to work safely in a lab environment
