PRIMARY PURPOSE Follow routine cleaning procedures to maintain a high standard of safety cleanliness and efficiency pertaining to assigned facilities and the grounds surrounding the facilities. Duties vary frequently and are assigned by the Custodial Foreman.
QUALIFICATION High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution preferred Minimum three 3 years of experience in custodial services preferred Basic understanding and verbalization of the English language
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Follow established AISD safety procedures • Abide by all AISD Board policies as well as procedures outlined in the Auxiliary Employee Handbook • Responsible for carrying out and following daily directives both internal and external of Custodial Foreman • Instruct train and lead all custodial work in assigned facility as designated by Custodial Foreman or Operations Supervisor • Keep custodial closet neat, clean, safe, and organized • Ensure that equipment and supplies are used and maintained properly • Read and understand instructions for cleaning and safety procedures • Follow established procedures for cleaning buildings, floors, chalkmarker boards, waste baskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and rest rooms • Keep all district facilities and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and playground areas, neat and clean • Ensure that equipment and supplies are used and maintained properly • Learn proper use of equipment and cleaning materials and train custodial staff accordingly • Assist with lunchroom setup and breakdown of tables and chairs for special events • Assist with opening and closing facility each day • Work cooperatively with all District personnel to ensure a high standard of safety cleanliness and efficiency of building operations • Maintain effective communication and rapport with district employees • Position may require overtime as necessary to maintain function of District facilities • Position will respond to service calls in a timely manner while serving on-call duty as necessary to maintain function of District facilities • Any other duties as may be directed by your immediate supervisor and/or any other supervisor within your line of authority

EQUIPMENT USE Equipment repair tools Vacuum High speed and low speed buffer Blower Auto-scrubber Carpet extractor Burnisher Walk-behind stand-on ride-on equipment And all other equipment necessary for District use

• Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress • Physical Demands: Frequent standing, sitting, kneeling, squatting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting • Motion: Frequent walking, climbing stairs, ladders, graspings, squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching, and overhead reaching • Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying 45 pounds and over on a daily basis • Environment: Work outside and inside on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, regularly work irregular hours, occasional prolonged hours
