Instructional Assistant Personal Care LPN - Special Education Location: Whispering Wind Academy 9 months, 6.5 hours/day Grade: 26 Step: 24, 27.37 hour Non-Interim Position Dates: 08/2026 - 05/2027 This job reports to Elementary School Nurse Essential Functions: • Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, and community. • Observe, record, and report to the school nurse the condition of the student, including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of a change in the patients condition. • Provide for the emotional and physical comfort of the student. • Assist in the care of the student in accordance with the students care plan. • Assist as needed with other students in the program. • Other job-related duties as assigned. Experience: Previous experience working with severely handicapped children Effective communication skills Education: High School Diploma or GED Required: Testing Certificates and Licenses: Possession of a current license to practice as a licensed practical nurse Continuing Educ.
