Saint John's Hospice (SJH) is a nationally recognized homeless shelter and day services provider located in Center City Philadelphia. Since 1963, SJH has served individuals experiencing homelessness with dignity and compassion by providing emergency shelter, nutritious meals, case management, housing support, and access to essential health and social services. SJH offers a continuum of care that addresses immediate survival needs while helping guests achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency. SJH operates a 40-bed residential program for men transitioning from homelessness to independent living, a 12-bed Good Shepherd residence for medically fragile individuals experiencing homelessness, and the Coffee House, an overnight emergency shelter providing a safe place to sleep every night of the year. Saint John's Hospice provides life-sustaining services to thousands of individuals experiencing homelessness, serving more than 2,000 meals each week, offering approximately 160 showers weekly, maintaining mail services for more than 1,700 individuals, and delivering comprehensive case management and supportive services that help guests secure permanent housing and improve their overall well-being. Through strong partnerships with volunteers, donors, foundations, healthcare providers, and community organizations, SJH continues to provide pathways out of homelessness while strengthening the health and stability of Philadelphia's most vulnerable residents.
