PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Child Nutrition Warehouse Leader is responsible for maintaining efficient CNP warehouse operations through proper shipping and receiving procedures, route management, and inventory control. To assist in the management of shipments, transport of food and supplies and to store, issue and deliver inventory, to all schools. All primary duties to be performed are to ensure healthy meals are provided to maximize students' energy, attention, and overall well-being for higher levels of learning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or equivalent, required

Valid Texas driver's Class C license, required

Clear driving record, required

Certified forklift operator, preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to cross-reference parts in assorted catalogs

Ability to read and comprehend detailed verbal and written instructions

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure

Ability to operate a 2-wheel hand trucks, hydraulic hand pallet trucks, pallet jack, electric pallet jack

Knowledge of general shipping and receiving procedures

Proficiency in Computers and Microsoft Office

Proficiency in English and Spanish

Experience:

Minimum of one (1) year work related experience in the warehouse stocking area, required

Pay Grade: Auxiliary Pay Structure 6

Pay Date: Monthly

Hourly Pay Range:

Minimum: $17.75

Midpoint: $21.12

Maximum: $24.49

Note: Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each person''s job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor incoming shipments and ensure that receiving is accurate, timely and recorded appropriately.
  • Monitor outgoing deliveries to ensure deliveries are accurate, timely and recorded appropriately.
  • Distribute orders to warehouse personnel to fill and ensure orders are accurate prior to delivery.
  • Post daily receipts, shipments, and transfers in the inventory management system.
  • Process requests for replacements and collect obsolete or unusable equipment throughout the district.
  • Process and deliver items marked for disposal via auction or other authorized methods.
  • Assist in receiving equipment and coordinate delivery to schools efficiently while ensuring proper documentation is completed and processed.
  • Execute CNP warehouse physical inventory counts and maintain an accurate inventory database.
  • Provide support to cafeteria managers during end of month campus inventory submissions and ensure 100% of inventory submissions are completed.
  • Provide inventory reports as needed and observe all record retention rules.
  • Assist in maintaining an accurate sixty-day inventory of stock items.
  • Ensure that the CNP storage/dock areas and warehouse are kept clean and tidy, which includes identifying areas where processes could be improved, and work practices amended.
  • Assist in performing preventative maintenance on CNP warehouse vehicles.
  • Operate CNP vehicles, forklift, pallet jack, and/or electric pallet jack for movement of Child Nutrition inventory and supplies.
  • Safeguard food supplies and equipment against theft, misuse, & damage while on duty.
  • Adhere to sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Maintain contact with CNP Administration and CNP Warehouse staff to receive and disseminate important communication.
  • Maintain professional growth by attending in-services and meetings as requested.
  • Assist District and independent auditors with inventory counts.
  • Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator) in accordance with funding source guidelines.

Forklift, pallet jack, electric pallet jack, kitchen equipment, food service delivery van and/or truck, computers, office equipment, 2-way radio

Regular lifting or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, occasional lifting or moving items weighing up to 100 pounds, occasional prolonged and irregular hours, frequent working with temperature extremes (heat from cooking stoves and cold from walk-in coolers and freezers), ability to work around moving objects or vehicles, frequent walking and standing on uneven surfaces, frequent contact with electrical and mechanical kitchen equipment
