Job Description:

Program Start Date: Tuesday, September 8th

Winchester Hospital, a member of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is proud to announce our new 2026 Fall Nurse Resident Program. As the leading provider of comprehensive health care services in the northwest suburban Boston area, our 5x Magnet designated, 183-bed facility excels in various specialties including general, bariatric and vascular surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, cardiology, pulmonary medicine, oncology, gastroenterology, rehabilitation, radiation oncology, pain management, obstetrics/gynecology, and a Level IIB Special Care Nursery.

This program is designed to support new graduate nurses and those transitioning into a specialty area, bridging the gap between academic and professional practice. Nurses with less than one year of experience will participate in this year-long program, which includes in-person, hands-on learning with 12 weeks of weekly clinical classes and clinical experience with a unit-based preceptor. Following the completion of the weekly classes, residents will engage in monthly sessions focusing on peer support and professional development topics such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills, fostering their growth into confident professional nurses.

We aim to empower future nurses in our community with the necessary tools and resources for success.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • An Associate''s or Bachelor''s degree in Nursing from a board-approved program

  • Completion of all clinical rotations and eligibility to sit for the RN registration exam (NCLEX)

  • Basic Life Support Certificate from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

  • Availability to work 36 hours a week (Nights), including three 12-hour shifts with weekend and holiday rotation

  • Ability to attend all mandatory classroom sessions.
