By increasing organizational capacity and improving access to stable, affordable housing, this project will help break the cycle of poverty and support veterans' long-term economic stability, health, and self-sufficiency. The Development and Veterans Affairs Coordinator will develop and implement a structured veteran referral and partnership system that serves DuPage and southern Cook County and collaborates with veteran service organizations, military-affiliated agencies, and community partners. They will also design a tracking system to document referrals, outcomes, and procedures. The AmeriCorps VISTA member will also conduct research and develop templates to expand fundraising and community engagement initiatives, as well as coordinate events and outreach to strengthen partnerships with veterans and other stakeholders. They will enhance our volunteer management by tracking engagement metrics and helping build sustainable programs that serve veterans and the broader community.
