Qualifications

Excellent musicianship and artistry as a teacherperformer

Strong understanding of woodwind pedagogy

Experience working with children from diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Self-motivated and willing to collaborate in a team-teaching environment

At least 2 years of prior teaching experience preferred

Bachelor&rsquos or equivalent degree in Woodwind Performance. Music Education Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

Develop and teach engaging group woodwind lessons thatEstablish routines and encourage development of strong fundamental skillsIncorporate a variety of strategies movement ear training music reading and activities exercises games demonstration listening etcMaintain excellent classroom managementAdapt to the needs of students at various levels and with various learning stylesEncourage peer teachingCollaborating closely with the Administration and faculty to achieve program-wide learning goalsMaintaining a positive and nurturing classroom environmentSetting and maintaining high standards for student behavior and music learningEnforcing program rules and policies
