Job Description
Huntington Ingalls Industries, Mission Technologies (HII-MT) is seeking a cybersecurity engineering intern with a solid technical foundation in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or embedded systems. This role involves hands-on support of cyber test and evaluation, with opportunities to work alongside engineers and analysts engaged in reverse engineering, software/firmware analysis, and prototype development.
Essential Job Responsibilities
As a Cybersecurity Engineering Intern, you will assist with the reverse engineering of software, firmware, and hardware systems under the guidance of senior engineers, while supporting cyber testing and experimentation on both operational and prototype platforms in a lab environment. You'll contribute to the identification and reporting of cyber risks and vulnerabilities in embedded, networked, and RF-connected systems. In addition, you will have opportunities to develop automation tools and analysis scripts (e.g., Python, Bash), participate in technical discussions, document findings, and work collaboratively with engineers and mentors to advance the team's mission.
Minimum Qualifications
Engineering Intern 2 : High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a Bachelors degree with between 20% and 40% of the required credits completed.
Engineering Intern 3 : High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a Bachelors degree with between 40% and 60% of the required credits completed.
Engineering Intern 4 : High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a Bachelors degree with more than 60% of the required credits completed.
