JOB SUMMARY: This is an opportunity to be immersed in the culture of a leading general aviation manufacturer, home to two iconic brands: Cessna and Beechcraft. In this role, you'll collaborate with and learn from our experienced Industrial Design staff. The open office layout encourages cross-disciplinary teamwork with design, mechanical, and electrical experts driving new product development. From small single-engine aircraft to super-midsized jets, the design projects span a wide range. Your primary focus will be interior development, where you'll integrate technology and human factors to enhance the cabin experience. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: + At a minimum, fully understand and follow the project design brief and produce requested deliverables on time. + Based on project scope, preform thorough research, ideation, concept generation, and design refinement. + Support Human Factor mockups to inform design development. + Ask questions, challenge the status quo, and bring a high level of enthusiasm and creativity. + Be collaborative. Work through solutions with Engineering, Interior Design, and other technical groups and interns. + Build engaging presentations that communicate your design journey and final solutions. + There is much to learn in this 10-week experience - take advantage of as many intern events as possible and participate in facility tours at both east and west campuses. Qualifications EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE: Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, Product Design or other relative design discipline. QUALIFICATIONS: + Excellent visual communication skills + Experience with Adobe Suite products, CAD modeling and rendering software + Professional and diplomatic demeanor + Strong sense of accountability and integrity + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Time management skills to support multiple concurrent projects + Ability to deal with change and work in a dynamic environment + Proficient in use of standard Microsoft Office programs The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this job.
