Job Duties

The Assistant Coordinator will be an integral member of a two-person team responsible for managing the flow of daily assignments to the House Page class from the Lead Page Coordinator, Delegates, House Clerks' Office staff, and other personnel. Under the administration of the Clerk of the House, the House Page Program Assistant Coordinator will collaborate with the other Page Supervisors, including the Lead Page Coordinator and the Hotel Chaperones, throughout the entirety of the 7 or 9-week-long program for 13 and 14-year-old students from across the Commonwealth during the Legislative Session.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience working with adolescents, including knowledge of problems, issues, and/or concerns of teenagers
• Ability to mentor, provide feedback, and communicate effectively
• Discretion when handling sensitive situations or confidential information.
• Detail-oriented and the ability to multitask
• General understanding of the Virginia General Assembly and the importance of the Page Program

Additional Considerations

• CPR / First Aid certified
• Completed College degree, preferably in education, social studies, government, history, or political science

This is a temporary position for the 2027 session of the House of Delegates. Start date - January 10, 2027 and end date - February 26, 2027 with the addition of a training period before these dates. This position is located at the General Assembly Building in downtown Richmond.
