Job Description

Overview:

The Art Rights intern will assist in clearing and managing rights for the artwork that appears on our covers and inside our books, including licensing stock art and fonts, processing invoices, assisting in third-party sales of cover art to other publishers, and various projects to improve efficiency and workflows.

Responsibilities:
  • Process and code invoices for stock licensing
  • Manage permissions requests from subrights and other internal departments
  • Assist with projects to improve efficiencies and workflows
  • Learn the nuts and bolts of book production, including how rights and content is managed at a major book publisher
Qualifications:
  • Candidates must be available to work in our NYC office from Monday – Thursday for a total of 28 hours per week, from June 7 – August 12, 2027. Compensation for this internship is $18 per hour.  
  • Candidates who are available to work in a full-time capacity in 2027 or 2028 are eligible for this internship; open to rising seniors, recent graduates, master’s students, or entry level candidates with up to 1 year of work experience.

  • Ideal candidates are either currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s program.
  • A passion for books is highly valued!
