General Manager in Training 2NCJob DescriptionThe General Manager in Training is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the store in conjunction with the management team to maximize sales and customer service and assists the General Manager in all Store Operations. Upon successful completion of the GMIT program the General Manager in Training will be considered for a store location of their own.Roles and ResponsibilitiesMaximizes profits and customer service by leading andoperating the store in adherence with all Company policy and guidelines.Operates the store as the Manager On-Duty in conjunction with the management team.Plans organizes and directs store activitiesunder the direction of the General Manager.Ensures highest level of customer service and handles customer complaints to a satisfactory conclusion.Maintains category merchandising and cleanliness and ensures operational efficiency and product flow within the store under the direction of the General Manager.Trains and develops Associates and Leads.Coaches trains and develops the Management staff under the direction of the General Manager.Facilitates effective communication to all store Associates through daily briefings and weekly and monthly meetings.Assists the General Manager in creating store schedules to provide adequate coverage forallaspects of the store.Consults with the General Manager on associate and manager performance.Assists General Manager in enhancing stores reputation by establishing and maintaining good community relations and partnerships.Drops off bank deposit and pick up change order as neededPerforms other duties as assigned.Duties may vary depending on store size or store volume.Scheduling RequirementsAll managers follow the 3 or 4 Manager Rotation schedule depending on the number of managers in the store.All managers must have open availability and be able to work opening shifts closing shifts or other shifts as needed OR have availability approved by District Manager if open availability is not possible.All managers are Full Time and may work up to 45 hours per week.Core CompetenciesInterpersonal SkillsTeam Management and DevelopmentAction OrientationStrong verbal and written communication skillsQualifications and Education Requirements21 years of age or olderHigh school diploma or equivalent required college degree in business-related field preferredPrevious experience in a supervisor roleStrong customer service skillsDemonstrated ability to act in a mature and conscientious mannerAbility to supervise a large number of associatesStrong decision-making communication and merchandising skillsSuccessful completion of all required background screeningsPhysical and Environmental RequirementsMust be able to stand and walk for extended periods of timeMust be able to use handsarms to operate a keyboard and telephone for repetitive motion activitiesMust be able to lift or team lift objects up to 50 lbs. with or without assistanceMust be able to communicate using speech sight and sound with or without an assistive deviceMust be able to stand walk climb bend stoop or crouch while performing daily activities of the job2nd and Charles Specific Policy
