What You’ll Do:
  • Provide expert nursing care for high-acuity and post-cardiothoracic surgery patients, including those with multiple comorbidities and drips.
  • Manage complex cases involving devices like Impella, Balloon Pump, Artic Sun, and CRRT.
  • Monitor, administer, and evaluate treatments such as medications, therapies, and invasive procedures.
  • Document patient histories, symptoms, and care activities accurately.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on care procedures and recovery expectations.
  • Adhere to hospital protocols, safety standards, and compliance requirements.

What You Need:
  • Required:
    • Current RN license in Texas or a recognized compact state
    • BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
    • Minimum 1 year of critical care experience (or new graduate with appropriate skills)
    • Experience with post-cardiothoracic surgery recovery and high-acuity patients preferred
  • Preferred:
    • Previous Epic EHR experience
    • Knowledge of advanced cardiac devices and therapies
    • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
