21C High School Summer Internship - Internal SPS Student ONLY (8-10 Openings) [SY 2025-2026]
Job Description & Program Goal:
The 21C Educator Internship provides high school students interested in education careers with a full-time summer internship. Interns gain valuable hands-on experience while providing essential support to students at 21st CCLC summer sites.
Internship Commitment:
The 21C internship is a 5-week summer program. Interns are expected to be available for the duration of the program.
Requirements include:
- Attending an internship and assigned program orientation in June.
- Participating in 5 weekly workshop sessions during the internship period.
Internship Requirements:
- Mandatory Orientation: Must attend in June (Tentative: June 24th and/or June 25th, 2026).
- Full Commitment: Must be available for the full 5-week program: July 6th - August 7th, 2026.
- Student Focus: Interested in working with elementary and/or middle school-aged students.
- Eligibility: Current 11th, or 12th grader within Salem Public Schools.
- Paperwork: Must complete all Summer Work Permit requirements.
Preferred Candidates:
- Participated in an OST Internship during the 2025-2026 School Year.
- Ability to demonstrate commitment to the full duration of the summer program
- Clear communication skills and willingness to work with young people in a variety of school/ camp based activities
- Interested in a career in education or youth services.
- Prior experience working with young people.
- Application Deadline: Complete 21C Intern Application by May 31st, 2026.
