What Youll Do
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation) for assigned surgical patients
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol and monitor for side effects and effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and nursing care provided
- Support patients and families by addressing psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers
- Coordinate and delegate care appropriately to support safe, efficient OR operations
- Demonstrate clinical leadership aligned with OneCHRISTUS competencies
What You Need
Required
- RN license in the state of employment or a compact license
- BLS required
Preferred
- 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty
- EPIC experience highly preferred
- OR experience supporting a variety of surgical service lines
About the Assignment
Work in an Operating Room/Surgery environment with minimal pediatrics and a broad mix of surgical specialties, including GI (importantno dedicated GI team, with OR coverage on call and during the week), general surgery, urology, gyn, vascular, ortho, neuro, robotics (including XI, DV5, and ION), reconstructive plastics, podiatry, and cardiovascular (a plus, not required).
