You will conduct complex research on finance and investments, assist in preparing and producing regulatory reports, ad hoc financial reports, speeches, charts, and studies. Your research, analysis, and organized methods will contribute to effective business decisions through precise financial data interpretation.Major ResponsibilitiesPrepare and maintain accurate project financial records including job cost, commitments, and sub-job dataSupport monthly close, reporting, and forecast updates including variance analysis and reconciliationsAssist with earnings calculations and revenue recognition supportPrepare and review client and intercompany invoices to ensure supporting documentation and contract complianceReview and process vendor and subcontractor invoices to ensure proper coding to cost codes and sub-jobsMonitor and reconcile project balance sheet accounts including accruals, prepayments, and intercompany balancesTrack and reconcile unbilled costs, receivables, and payables to ensure timely resolution of variancesSupport cost control activities by validating costs, commitments, and alignment with project budgetsSupport the procure-to-pay (P2P) process by working with Procurement, BBS, and field teams to ensure accurate cost capture and timely paymentsEnsure compliance with internal controls, approval authorities, and accounting proceduresSupport internal and external audit requests including preparation of schedules and documentationInterface with cross-functional teams (Project ControlsEducation and Experience RequirementsRequires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge and SkillsIntermediate skill with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.Working knowledge of accounting principles, concepts, and terminology including ability to perform account analysis/reconciliation and support month-end activities (including accrual support).Experience supporting project accounting workstreams (e.g., AP invoice review/coding/routing; unbilled cost review and billing support) with strong attention to accuracy and timeliness.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound business judgment including ability to work independently on routine issues and to elevate appropriately when risks to financial accuracy/compliance are identified.Strong communication and coordination skills; able to work effectively in a matrix environment with Project Controls, Procurement, Project Management, and shared services.Professional discretion, confidentiality, and a customer‑service orientation with commitment to meeting deadlines.Experience with ERP/financial systems (Oracle preferred) and exposure to EPC/construction or large capital project environments.Total Rewards/BenefitsFor decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
