MBA Consulting Services, Inc. (MBA CSi) is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to help engineer, secure, and support the nationwide network infrastructure powering the U.S. Postal Service's mail processing operations. You'll work alongside experienced engineers on mission-critical systems that keep one of the country's largest logistics networks running.
This position is located at the USPS Engineering Headquarters in Merrifield, Virginia.

What You'll Be Doing
As our Senior Network Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, implementing, securing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
Your responsibilities include:
- Design, configure, and deploy Cisco Catalyst switching infrastructure
- Engineer Layer 2 network solutions for large enterprise environments
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco switches and routers
- Manage IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, routing, and network segmentation
- Perform advanced packet analysis using Wireshark and other diagnostic tools
- Support network security hardware and software
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide Tier III engineering support
- Develop network designs, Statements of Work (SOWs), technical documentation, presentations, and after-action reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on infrastructure modernization initiatives
- Recommend improvements that increase network reliability, scalability, and performance
What We're Looking For
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of enterprise Cisco networking experience
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Catalyst switches and routers
- Strong understanding of:
- TCP/IP
- Routing & Switching
- VLANs
- Layer 2 technologies
- OSI Model
- Network protocols
- IP addressing & subnetting
- Experience using packet capture and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark
- Experience with SolarWinds or similar enterprise monitoring platforms
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio
Bonus Points If You Have
CCNA, CCNP, or higher Cisco certification
Experience with PowerShell, Python, or Bash scripting
Virtualization experience
Network automation experience
Federal government or large enterprise infrastructure experience
