26-0086-011 — Scientific Advisor: Cold Engineering and Science — ERDC (Consulting, Contingent)

Paid, low-volume advisory consulting — contingent opportunity. Axyde Analytics is recruiting a named, non-government Scientific Advisor for its proposed ERDC Fellowship Program Administration and Research Support team. This is advance recruiting for Axyde, not a Government appointment or an awarded/funded position. Selection and any future work depend on need, funding, applicable contract requirements and a mutually agreed written engagement.

Engagement and compensation: Occasional scheduled consultations, short technical reviews and mentoring or recruiting-advice assignments. Low-volume, nonexclusive consulting rather than a full-time role; no minimum hours or work volume is guaranteed. Compensation will be an agreed honorarium for a discrete permitted activity or a negotiated consulting fee for an authorized assignment. Scope, fee and any travel reimbursement must be agreed before work starts. No unpaid project deliverables are requested with an application.

Location: Remote advisory consultations are anticipated. Midlothian, Virginia is Axyde's administrative base. Any travel or onsite activity would be separately agreed and subject to facility/task-order requirements.

Scientific Advisor — Cold Engineering and Science

Technical focus: Snow, ice and permafrost; cold-region hydrology and geotechnics; infrastructure performance in freezing environments; Arctic engineering, field methods and cold-weather systems.

Directly relevant experience: Research or applied leadership in cold-regions engineering, cryosphere science, permafrost, snow/ice mechanics or Arctic infrastructure.

Shared advisory responsibilities

• Advise the Axyde Program Director and recruiting team on discipline-specific research profiles, relevant methods and realistic experience criteria.
• Identify appropriate university, postdoctoral and professional recruiting channels and facilitate introductions when authorized.
• Review short technical profiles or candidate qualifications when authorized, documenting evidence and disclosing conflicts; final selection and research direction remain with the authorized program/Government officials.
• Provide occasional technical mentoring, seminar input or short written recommendations within an agreed assignment.
• Help translate technical needs into clear recruiting and program-administration requirements without implying authority over ERDC research.

Qualifications and participation

• Recognized expertise demonstrated by relevant research, applied projects, publications, patents, technical leadership or comparable professional contributions.
• Ability to communicate across technical and administrative teams and provide concise, evidence-based advice.
• Advanced degree in a relevant discipline preferred, or equivalent substantial professional expertise; these are Axyde preferences, not stated Government minimums.
• Serve in a non-government capacity. This recruitment does not seek serving Government officials acting in their official capacity. University, nonprofit, industry, independent and retired experts are welcome where outside consulting is permitted.
• Disclose relevant conflicts and obtain any required employer/institution approval. No privileged, proprietary or nonpublic Government information should be supplied.
