  • Experience and general understanding of education administrationn
  • Training in and knowledge of instructional coaching

Key Strategic Priorities Include:

  • Building, maintaining, and partnering with staff, parents, and other administrators. n
  • Working together with administration and staff to promote the Highly Reliable Schools framework; specifically in Level 2: Effective Teaching in Every Classroom.n

  • Collaborate with teachers and subject/grade teams to co-plan units, lessons, and assessments, sharing ongoing feedback to improve instructional practicesn
  • Provide job-embedded professional development opportunities, including facilitating department and content meetings, to support teachersxe2x80x99 growth goalsn
  • Partner with the Site Director to identify teachers requiring additional support and collaboratively develop and monitor Teacher Improvement Plans (TIPs)n

Data-Driven Instruction

  • Provides speech therapy to students in a school setting
  • Administer speech and language therapy treatments to clients using modalities and techniques appropriate for each individual students
  • Sets long and short term goals in measurable terms and adjusts treatment plans/IEP accordingly
  • Instruct students and their parents/caretakers in activities which can be carried out by them between treatment visits
  • Submits necessary documentation for services provided
  • Makes recommendations for referrals to other disciplines when appropriate
  • Consult with other therapists, teachers and Director of Academic Intervention Services when providing services to the students in order to make joint decisions regarding continuation of, or dismissal from therapy when the need for speech therapy treatment is no longer necessary
  • Attend Parent-Teacher Conferences prepared to discuss studentsxe2x80x99 academic growth
  • Other duties as assigned by Administration

Position Description

This position supports grades Kxe2x80x938 and operates across both school building sites:

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree required
  • Valid NYS Speech Language Pathology license and Certificate of Clinical Competency
  • A minimum of three years teaching experience
  • Must adhere to all speech therapy rules and regulations set forth by the NYS Department of Professional Regulations
  • An ability to work collaboratively
  • Spanish proficiency, preferred
