This is an AmeriCorps/Washington Service Corps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. Washington's Employment Security Department (ESD) supports economic stability and equitable access to employment services across the state. Through the ESD Comprehensive Re-entry Program, AmeriCorps members will serve adults preparing for release from Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) facilities. Many justice-impacted individuals face barriers to employment. These include limited work history, lack of job-readiness skills, and difficulty connecting to community resources after release. The members will serve inside multiple DOC facilities to support job readiness and coordinate warm hand-offs to local WorkSource contacts upon release. This role is ideal for someone interested in workforce development, reentry services, adult education, or public service. Members will gain experience in facilitation, trauma-informed service delivery, and navigating Washington's workforce system. The members will serve in WorkSource Offices and Department of Corrections facilities in Thurston, Mason, and Grays Harbor Counties. Applicants will have an opportunity to express their preference for primary service site during the interview process. Because the members will be serving in Department of Corrections facilities, applicants will need to be able to pass a DOC background check. We expect to begin rolling review of applications and interviews in early August. Monthly stipend amount: $1,942. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.
