Requirements Education/Certification:

High School or GED (preferred)

Required to have a minimum of 6 hours of continuing professional education development annually

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Use, care and cleaning of food preparation equipment and utensils

Basic principles of food sanitation and handling

Able to work in refrigerated areas

Some food service and/or receiving experience preferred Description Primary Purpose:

Receive deliveries, labels, takes food temperature, stores food and nonfood products. Issues ingredients from the walk-in freezer and cooler and storage areas to staff. Works as a team member with cooks in the the daily production requirements. Prepares a variety of foods and assists in other related kitchen clean-up tasks in designated production and/or service area. Assures food is prepared using standardized recipes. Assists with perpetual inventory and disposes of garbage.

Works internally with Director of Food & Nutrition Services and Assistant Director of Food & Nutrition Services. Application Procedure Position: 26-27 Food Service Attendant Pool (PG 401)
