26-27 School Year School Psychologist JobID: 1140 Position Type: Student Support Services Date Posted: 4/8/2026 Location: Woodlawn Middle School Date Available: August 2026   Additional Information: Show/Hide Purpose Statement The job of School Psychologist is done for the purpose of facilitating administrative processes; ensuring compliance with current laws and regulations, being a resource to students, families, and teachers; providing ongoing services to students; acting as a member of the school/district crisis team, and helping students achieve their educational goals. This job reports to the Director of Educational Services/ and Director of Special Education. Principals and the Director of Student Services share in mentoring and evaluating performance. Essential Functions Administers standardized and/or supplemental assessments for the purpose of measuring the intellectual, adaptive, academic, social and emotional development of children and/or determining eligibility for services in compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaborates and participates with all staff in meetings, workshops and seminars as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information to meet student needs. Collects and analyzes data related to the tiered implementation of interventions, utilizing a strong understanding of response to interventions and progress monitoring. Consults with teams in regards to the development and implementation of individualized education plans. Coordinates and consults with all staff, parents, and/or outside agencies/service providers for the purpose of providing referrals and supporting the child's educational program. Coordinates with school staff to support the implement school wide program development and program evaluation for the purpose of ensuring effective programs to assist children who experience physical, mental, social and emotional difficulties. Demonstrates professionalism and collaborates with others (e.g. administrators, teachers, nurse, parents, mental health agencies, other professionals, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the effective and efficient functioning of the school and team. Facilitates or assists in facilitating individualized educational plan and problem solving meetings. Maintains case records and written communications, organizes one's schedule and work space for the purpose of documenting activities and complying with mandated requirements. Maintains knowledge of current practice in field (e.g. laws, trends, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions Manages and/or assists in crisis situations that arise within the school and/or district for the purpose of diffusing the crisis. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the team. Provides interventions/services in group and/or individual formats to students for the purpose of meeting IEP minutes and/or providing social emotional support to the regular education population. Supports teams in ensuring compliance with all district, state, and federal regulations. Qualifications: The school psychologist shall be licensed as an Illinois school psychologist.
