Job Purpose: To provide for the security and protection of all students, staff, and property.
Responsibilities:
Patrols the building and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
Conducts patrol inspections of doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure including unlocking of doors each evening for assigned classes.
Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning, routes or detains them, and provides a liaison with the local police and emergency services.
Consults with the program facilitator/coordinator concerning criminal matters and procedures.
Advises the program facilitator/coordinator of matters of security and discipline.
Documents all incidents involving serious disciplinary action.
Utilizes conflict resolution techniques in dealing with student/staff situations
Other appropriate duties as assigned by the Director of Adult Education/Program Facilitator.
Qualifications:
High School diploma
Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
Such alternatives to above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Successfully pass the Security Officer License Training.
Reports to: Adult Education Director/Program Facilitator
Terms of Employment:
Part time - follows school calendar
Pay Rate: According to salary schedule
