The coach emphasizes the importance of continuous improvement teamwork diversity sportsmanship pride and work ethic while providing the opportunity for a safe positive and enjoyable experience for the student-athlete.TheMiddle School8th Grade Interim Baseball Coach reports to the Athletic Director and the VarsityBaseball Coach.QUALIFICATIONSMIAA Coaching certificate if first serving as an interscholastic coach after July 1 2005Bachelor&rsquos degree in related field and previous relevant coaching experience or an equivalent combination of training and experienceKnowledge of MIAA rules governing athletic activitiesAbility to motivate student athletes communicate clearly and effectively and relate to and work with students of differing athletic abilitiesCommitment to remain current in knowledge of the sport and its coaching strategiesSuch alternatives to the above qualifications as the Athletic Director may find appropriate and in conformity with state and federal statute.DUTIESSupervise and conduct practice and coaching sessions. Teach sports techniques playing rules strategies and playing tactics. Impart love of the sport to players and develop healthy self-image and confidence Condition athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance strength and agilityTeach sportsmanship cooperation work ethic and responsibility to ones teamSupervise and provide coaching during matches meets contestsObserve basic safety guidelines.
