The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Day Camp Coordinator specializing in Administration to join our team!

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. 

As a Day Camp Administrative Coordinator, you will assist in the overall administration and operation of summer day camp program under the direct supervision of the Day Camp Director.

This part-time position requires up to 29 hours per week including Sundays. This role balances working with camp families, campers, and staff, and administrative tasks such as tracking registrations, sending emails, and creating rosters and signage.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate ordering of summer supplies.
  • Incorporate weekly themes into camp communications and signage.
  • Provide resources and new programming ideas for camp program.
  • Ensure weekly calendars are submitted in advance to camp director and available on the first day of the week.
  • Coordinate all parent communication including Camper Enrollment Forms and attend to all parent concerns ensuring appropriate communication and follow up.
  • Facilitate camper check in and manage camper t-shirt distribution
  • Create and monitor weekly staff schedules and rosters to maintain proper ratios.
  • Provide lunch coverage for camp counselor staff daily
  • Provide support and advice related to working with children’s behaviors and interests.

 

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Minimum one-year experience in performing administrative tasks and using computer-based systems
  • Positive attitude and previous experience with children and diverse populations.
  • Knowledge and skills in day camp program activities and related equipment set-up
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required
  • Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).

 

Wage: $17.74 to $19.74 per hour, depending on qualifications

Hours: Part-Time, Seasonal

Location: Bremerton Family YMCA, Bremerton, WA
