The Admissions Counselor aids in the recruitment of undergraduate students for a designated territory including on-campus and off-campus events.

The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent customer service, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and a commitment to working in a team environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Implement and monitor recruitment and yield for a cohort of students
  • Manage a specific recruitment territory
  • Represent university at off campus recruitment events
  • Assist with the completion and submission of application materials
  • Build relationships with community college counselors to assist in out-reach to students and their families
  • Facilitate group information sessions
  • Conduct individual appointments for prospective students
  • Assist with on-campus recruitment and yield activities for students
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Work experience in higher education admissions as staff, tour guide or student worker
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Valid drivers license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated customer service experience
  • Professional work experience in higher education admissions
  • Experience using document management tools and CRM systems (such as Slate) for prospect and applicant management

Salary and benefits are dictated by the State College and University Professional Association (SCUPA) Collective Bargaining Agreement.
