The Department of Nutrition invites applicants for a Full-time, 12-month, Tenure-Track, Assistant Professor of Nutrition and Dietetic Internship Program Director. The position begins in July 2027.

The mission of West Chester University's Dietetic Internship program is to prepare program graduates to be competent entry-level registered dietitian nutritionists through high-quality graduate level education, relevant and innovative supervised practice experiences, and collaborative leadership opportunities. The faculty position involves serving as the Program Director for West Chester University's accredited Dietetic Internship Program and supporting the teaching, service, and clinical education mission of the Department of Nutrition. The Program Director will provide leadership and oversight for the ongoing administration, assessment, and continuous improvement of the Dietetic Internship Program in accordance with University requirements and Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) standards. The individual will work collaboratively with the department chair and graduate and undergraduate program directors to allow for student success in alignment with the faculty collective bargaining agreement for a 12-month appointment.

Responsibilities include:

• Serve as department Dietetic Internship Director and fulfill responsibilities outlined by ACEND Accreditation Standards including securing supervised practice sites and maintaining accreditation documentation and reports.
• Lead recruitment, application review, interview, selection, and onboarding processes for incoming dietetic interns.
• Teach graduate level courses in the dietetic internship program. Additional courses within area of specialization may be assigned based on departmental needs.
• Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise policies and procedures to effectively manage the dietetic internship within ACEND standards.
• Contribute to the curriculum and curriculum development in the graduate/dietetic internship programs.
• Develop and coordinate marketing, outreach, and recruitment initiatives including open houses, informational sessions, and promotional activities.
• Conduct regular intern evaluations and competency assessments, providing timely coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
• Preside over the Internship Advisory Committee meeting and Intern Selection committee.
• Mentoring and advising students.
• Engage in scholarly activities such as research, presentations, and publications.
• Serve the University and the community through participation in various committees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nutrition or a closely related field
• Must be a Registered Dietitian with CDR and provide state of PA licensure
• Minimum of three years of professional experience post-dietetics credentialing

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate in Nutrition or a closely related field; and/or
• Professional work experience in a supervised practice program; and/or
• Experience using learning management systems geared towards distance education; and/or
• Teaching experience at the college or university level; and/or
• Familiarity with the accreditation process of supervised practice programs in dietetics
