Full-time Technology Engineer - Level III. Salary range: $72,102/year - $95,923/year + full benefits, exempt.
The Belton School District is seeking a Technology Engineer - Level III with a broad foundation in enterprise computer technology operations. This position supports an environment of approximately 5500 users and devices. The primary focus of this role is IT service management, service desk and work-order operations and escalation, technology purchasing, technology asset and supply inventory management, and coordination of small technology projects. The position may also administer selected systems based on the successful candidate's experience and district needs.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Apply IT service management practices to improve incident, service request, problem, change, knowledge, and service-delivery processes.
- Coordinate the technology help desk and work-order system, including request intake, prioritization, assignment, queue monitoring, escalation, follow-up, documentation, and service metrics.
- Provide and coordinate escalated technical support, ensuring issues are appropriately owned, communicated, and resolved.
- Manage technology purchasing activities, including technology standards, quotes, requisitions, vendor coordination, receiving, warranty tracking, and purchasing documentation.
- Maintain accurate technology asset and supply inventories, including tagging, assignment, stock levels, audits, lifecycle status, and disposition.
- Plan and coordinate minor technology projects, including schedules, vendors, communication, documentation, implementation, and handoff to operations.
- Develop and maintain procedures, knowledge-base articles, standards, and operational documentation.
- Manage or assist with selected technology systems when aligned with existing knowledge, experience, and district needs.
Preferred knowledge and experience in areas listed below are a plus:
- Broad working knowledge across end-user computing, networking, servers, cloud services, identity and access, security, and device management.
- ITIL Foundation or other IT service management training or credentials preferred.
- Technical project management or project coordination experience.
- Network LAN, firewall and content filter, and IP phone system management, including HP networking equipment, Fortinet security gateways, and Mitel systems.
- Microsoft Server and Active Directory management and virtualization using VMware.
- JAMF administration; Apple macOS, iOS, and iPadOS experience; and Google Workspace experience.
- Large-scale device deployment and management.
- Certification in a related technical field preferred.
- Experience in educational environments and systems.
This position will report directly to the District Technology Director.
