Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Full-Time 2G/3G Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced welding capabilities in both horizontal (2G) and vertical (3G) positions, with a strong foundation in structural welding techniques. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can interpret complex blueprints, perform precise shop math calculations, and consistently produce high-quality welds that meet or exceed industry standards and specifications.
As a 2G/3G Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling structural components for various industrial, commercial, and construction projects. You will work with a variety of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, utilizing multiple welding processes to create strong, durable joints that ensure structural integrity and safety. This role demands technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards in all welding operations.
Key Responsibilities
Welding Operations
- Perform structural welding in 2G (horizontal) and 3G (vertical) positions using SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), FCAW (Flux-Core), and GTAW (TIG) processes as required
- Execute welds on various materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum with thicknesses ranging from thin gauge to heavy plate
- Set up welding equipment, select appropriate electrodes, filler materials, and shielding gases based on material specifications and project requirements
- Maintain proper welding parameters including amperage, voltage, travel speed, and wire feed speed to ensure quality welds
- Perform tack welding, root passes, fill passes, and cap passes according to welding procedure specifications (WPS)
- Conduct visual inspections of completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and are free from defects such as porosity, undercut,
