Teacher Employment Qualifications:

• Complete application in online application system.
• Copy of a current Teaching Certificate or provide documentation that a Certificate is in process. The applicant must obtain endorsement from the college or university attended, including student teaching or satisfactory completion of an Educator Preparation Program.

• All out of state certified applicants must obtain a current Texas Teaching Certificate before being considered for employment in a position that requires a teaching certificate.

Pre-Employment Affidavit

On November 13, 2017, Senate Bill 7, 85th Texas Legislature, Regular Session, created a new requirement in Texas Education Code 21.009 for all applicants for educator positions at school districts, districts of innovation, open-enrollment charter schools, regional education service centers, or shared services arrangements to provide, "using a form adopted by the agency, a pre-employment affidavit disclosing whether the applicant has ever been charged with, adjudicated for, or convicted of having an inappropriate relationship with a minor."

This position requires the completion of a pre-employment affidavit.

Benefits

5 local leave days + 5 state leave days. Prorated for part-time hours.

Accumulate local leave up to 60 days.

No limit on extra duty stipends.

District paid $3,900 annual insurance contribution for eligible employees. Contingent upon enrollment in a medical insurance plan.

$350-$700 longevity stipend based on years of service at CHISD ISD.
