Duties
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials, facilitating active learning.
- Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and tests in accordance with established procedures.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the school''s rules and disciplinary systems. Provide appropriate feedback on work.
- Encourage and monitor individual students'' progress, and use this information to adjust teaching strategies.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students'' progress and development.
- Update all necessary records accurately and ultimately as required by laws, district policies, and school regulations.
- Prepare required reports on students and activities.
- Participate in department, school, district and parent meetings.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and needs.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Prepare the classroom for class activities.
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
- Observe and evaluate students'' performance and development.
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
- Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
- Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain parental information when requested, promptly return phone calls, and answer emails.
- Participate in appropriate professional activities.
- Actively participate in IEP and 504 meetings as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with an endorsement for 2nd grade
Salary/Benefits
- Salary placement schedule: Up to 20 years of experience, including out-of-state and private schools, is granted. Any raises are factored into placement salary after year 1. Placement Matrix for 26-27
- Board-paid TRS
- $780 board contribution toward health insurance
- 14 sick days, three personal days
- Children can attend Maroa-Forsyth Schools even if they live outside the district, as long as the parent or guardian is a full-time employee.
