Center City Public Charter Schools seeks passionate, dedicated elementary school teachers committed to fostering a love of learning and academic success in young students. We aim to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where each child thrives academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our teachers are central to delivering high-quality instruction aligned with the Eureka Math and Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) curricula. Successful candidates will demonstrate expertise in differentiated instruction, classroom management, and cultivating a positive and supportive classroom culture.
Responsibilities:
Instructional Planning and Delivery
Design and deliver daily, effective, and differentiated instruction.
Demonstrate deep knowledge of curriculum standards, including Eureka Math and CKLA, pedagogy, and student developmental needs.
Set clear, measurable instructional outcomes.
Create and utilize assessments to monitor student learning and guide instruction.
Incorporate data to inform and refine teaching strategies, integrating differentiated instructional techniques to meet diverse learning needs.
Classroom Environment
Establish an environment of respect and rapport among students.
Create a culture of learning that promotes student engagement and ownership of learning.
Develop and implement effective procedures for managing classroom operations and student behavior.
Communicate expectations, procedures, and content effectively to students.
Student Engagement and Assessment
Utilize quality questioning and discussion techniques to engage students actively.
Foster meaningful student participation and encourage critical thinking.
Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to student needs.
Maintain accurate and timely student records.
Family and Community Engagement
Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and families.
Engage families in their child’s educational journey by fostering open communication centered around shared goals and aspirations.
Professional Development and Collaboration
Participate actively in campus-based professional learning communities (PLCs) and weekly grade-level planning sessions.
Attend and contribute to campus and district professional development initiatives.
Reflect on teaching practices, accept informal feedback, and implement changes for continuous improvement.
School Culture and Responsibilities
Follow school-wide procedures for attire, behavior, and punctuality.
Maintain teacher hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Participate in occasional school events outside of regular school hours.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an applicable subject area, as appropriate
Passing Praxis scores
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience (preferred)
Familiarity with Common Core Shifts in Mathematics and English Language Arts (preferred)
Demonstrates ability to use data to assess student learning, with evidence of growth
References that reflect a high standing with a past employer
Able to lift to 10 pounds and able to stand for long hours
