The Machine Operator is responsible for operating a 5 Axis vertical CNC machine to cut and shape plastic parts with high precision. This role is a great fit for someone who is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working with precision machinery in a fast-paced production environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Understand Paragon Plastics' expectations for making quality parts.
Understand and follow appropriate work instructions for each part.
Inspect the machine, equipment, and surrounding area for safety and quality compliance.
Ensure the reference part is at your workstation before beginning the job.
Move plastic sheets from a pallet to the 5 Axis CNC machine.
Enter the correct routing program into the machine.
Change out the machine's router bits as needed.
Remove routed parts from the machine.
Clean parts coming off the machine with a pneumatic drill and grinder.
Properly package parts per the work instructions.
Ensure machines are running at an efficient rate.
Cut leftover scrap into smaller pieces and dispose of it in the correct receptacles.
ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES
Follow all safety procedures and practices.
Keep work area clean and organized.
Rotate to other positions as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Team Leader.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Comfortable with use of vibrating tools.
Ability to stand and walk constantly throughout shift.
