2nd Shift Buffer Operator
Hours: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
Position Summary
In this role, you will support the production process by ensuring products move efficiently between workstations, maintaining a steady workflow, and assisting with material handling, quality checks, and general production duties. This position plays a vital role in keeping production running safely and efficiently in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supply production lines with the materials and packaging needed to maintain continuous operation.
- Remove finished products from production lines and transport them to designated staging areas.
- Monitor product flow to prevent production delays or bottlenecks.
- Inspect products and packaging for quality and report any defects or concerns.
- Stack, label, wrap, and prepare finished goods for storage or shipment.
- Operate pallet jacks or other material-handling equipment safely (training provided if applicable).
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Follow all company policies, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), and safety procedures.
- Communicate with production team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
- Assist with additional production or warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Willingness to learn and perform a variety of production tasks.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and reach throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures common in a food manufacturing facility.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
