Description
2nd Shift Cage Shift Manager
Position Summary:
Directs the Shift Operations of the warehouse with particular emphasis on managing cage warehouse associates and implementing warehouse action plans. Handles all inbound, outbound, and inventory management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Provides direct daily supervision of cage associates to achieve prescribed operational objectives within established timelines and in accordance with quality, safety, inventory control and customer satisfaction guidelines.
Develops and implements work schedules and assignments to meet customer demands.
Tours the cages regularly to answer questions, evaluate operations and solve problems, and ensure compliance with safety, security and sanitation procedures.
Recommends and implements improvements to cage operation programs and procedures.
Ensures efficient utilization of equipment.
Schedules and conducts staff meetings.
Tracks and manages employee paid time off and absenteeism
Participates in the interview process and makes hiring recommendations to the Operations Manager.
Through coordination with Operations Manager, establishes employee goals, provides coaching and training, conducts performance reviews and performs disciplinary action.
Ensures current and accurate inventory count and location for each account.
Enforces and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and federal, state and local regulations.
Establishes and maintains a professional and courteous relationship with all customers.
Assists in ensuring the security of the facility and its employees, contents and surroundings.
Job Specifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent work-related experience preferred.
Minimum of 5 years prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
Minimum of 3 years prior experience in leadership and supervisory roles; organization and planning.
Knowledge of warehouse operations and user of warehouse management system technology.
Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office and software applications.
Ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work efficiently with a professional, customer friendly attitude.
Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods.
Strong problem solving, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
