Non-Certified Caregiver
Caregivers assist with the activities of daily living for elderly, mentally disabled, chronically ill, or physically challenged residents. Caregivers will be responsible for the duties associated with running a household.
Shifts can vary, but most caregivers are expected to be available to workday shift, night shift, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
· Assist clients with medication reminders, bathing, showering, toileting, grooming, and other personal hygiene tasks, as well as cleaning, cooking, and doing laundry.
· Provide companionship including social interactions, conversations, emotional reassurance, and encouragement of activities that stimulate the mind.
· Prepare and maintain records of client progress and services performed, reporting changes in client condition to manager or supervisor.
· Complete and maintain records of daily activities, observations, and direct hours of service.
· Attending in-service training sessions and staff meetings.
· Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· High School diploma/GED accepted and may be required per state regulations.
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· A positive attitude, the flexibility to perform various duties in service to the residents and the ability to work in a team environment are keys to success.
· Dedication to and passion to serve seniors with excellent customer service skills.
· Ability to make choices, decisions and act in the resident’s best interest.
· Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication and a level of understanding.
· Competent in organizational and time management skills
· Demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.
· Must be able to pass a criminal background check
· Must not appear on the TennCare terminated provider list
· Must not appear on any registry checks: state abuse registry, state or national sexual offender, state felony offender, ICOTS, OIG/LEIE, or SAM
· Current driver’s license
